Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
In a recent discussion with devotees, we explored the tangible benefits of practicing Bhakti, or Krishna consciousness, sincerely and consistently. These benefits include:
1. *Sense of Guidance*: Both internal (inner clarity) and external (through guru-sadhu-sastra)
2. *Sense of Security*: A sense of stability that keeps us unaffected by changing circumstances.
3. *Sense of Power*: The ability to make the right decisions that shape our future.
4. *Sense of Wisdom*: Clarity and accurate perception of life and its events.
Without these four, life becomes challenging. For Example:
- Lack of sense of guidance: Results in poor decisions or over-dependence on others. Strong guidance allows us to choose wisely, with direction emerging from within.
- Lack of sense of security: Leads to helplessness. But with security, we face the world confidently.
- Lack of sense of power: Causes lethargy and laziness etc. Power inspires us to set meaningful goals, achieve them, and build a bright future.
- Lack of sense of wisdom: Creates a distorted view of life, making it hard to perceive reality accurately. With high sense of wisdom, we will have accurate vision of what is happening in our life
Therefore, by engaging in bhakti practices like chanting the holy names, studying Srimad Bhagavatam and Bhagavad Gita, and performing devotional service under a spiritual master regularly, these qualities manifest, enhancing both our spiritual and practical lives.
Your servant,
Satya Sara das
